Marty Hanenberg was born in Canada's Capital, Ottawa and headed west for the bright lights of Canada's Improv Capital, Calgary, over 20 years ago. After cutting his comedy teeth with the world-famous Loose Moose Theatre Company,  he co-founded the improvisational comedy troupe "Comic Relief", whose blend of scripted and improvised material gave them rave reviews from coast to coast. He has shared the improv stage with Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles from "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" and Bruce McCulloch and Mark McKinney from "The Kids In The Hall". Marty has incorporated his improvisation skills into his stand-up act, giving it an energetic, spontaneous quality that guarantees a fresh, different show every time.

With 20 years of performing experience under his belt, this proud Canadian comic has become a much-sought after performer, whose versatility, professionalism and tasteful humor are perfectly suited for the many corporate and community events he headlines. He includes WestJet, The Royal Bank, ATCO, Canadian Tire, the R.C.M.P. and Mobil Oil among his many satisfied clients and his unique view of everyday life has made him a favorite in comedy clubs across the country. Marty's acting career is also taking flight, with roles in several motion pictures, including "Rat Race", the Gary Burns film "A Problem With Fear" and guest appearances on the TV series "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" and "Comedy At Club 54".

Our audience ranged in age from late twenties to early seventies and you seemed to find a niche that appealed to almost everyone...We received a lot of positive feedback, and as you could tell from the uproaring laughter, your enthusiastic performance was a hit. Once again, Thanks for helping to make our convention a hit."
Ernie Gaschler, Executive Director, Insurance's Broker's Association of Saskatchewan

"All I can say is WOW...the entertainment was enjoyed immensely by all and we would like to bring him back again this year."
The Staff Association, Canadian Tire Corporation

"Marty took care to learn about our was almost like he was a Franchise Owner who was also a really great comedian. As soon as the audience members were able to pick themselves up off the floor and dry their tears of laughter, more than a few spontaneously came over and thanked Marty for his comedy. The next time we do a function of this nature, we will gladly welcome Marty back."
Andy Taylor, VP Operations, Joey's Only Seafood Restaurants

"The sign of a true comedian is if he can take a subject he knows nothing about and make it entertaining!!  Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) hired Marty to perform at the IES Annual Gala at the Palamino Room at the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede and we trust this one statement will tell you how great he was: "If he can make a room full of lighting engineers laugh you know he is good!" We definitely look forward to having Marty entertain us again in the future."
Shauna Drage, Event Planner, Stebnicki, Robertson & Assoc. Ltd.

" I wanted to send this note on behalf of everyone from Aboriginal Business Canada to thank you for the fantastic show which you performed for us on June 3rd, 2003. It was a great way to end our first full day at ABC's Western Focus Days Conference. If I have the opportunity I will definitely recommend you to other groups. Good luck with your future shows and thank you for a very entertaining evening at the St. Eugene Mission."
Bill Bornyk, Development Officer, Aboriginal Business Canada

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for coming to perform here at a conference that was held in early June. The audience response to your brand of comedy was fabulous! We heard so many positive comments after the show, some stating that it was "absolutely the highlight" of their visit here. Thanks again for your contribution to the success of the conference. We very much look forward to welcoming you back!"
Trina White, Conference Services Manager, Delta St. Eugene Mission Resort
